Standard grey adult female chinchilla. I named this chinchilla Dr. Deborah and she is the sweetest chinchilla you will ever meet. She is playful and loves using you as a personal jungle gym. She prefers to run around freely but does great in her big ball as long as she doesn’t get too hot. She loves being pet and scratched behind the ear. She extremely friendly and does well with people, kids, and other pets. She greatly enjoys chasing my cat around and playing with them. She is equally unafraid of dogs and will most likely do well with other chachas ( not sure tho I never tried to introduce her to another chinchilla). She love biting finger nails (gently) if you hold your hand to her face and she is not aggressive in any way. She does not bite or show aggression unless being irritated, scared, or hurt (like every other animal). She loves dandelion drops, strawberry drops, dates/rasins, and PUMPKIN SEEDS as treats. She loves her sweets and goes straight for them so must be given to her in moderation to limit her intake. She likes her Timothy hay and eats well but prefers her pellet food. Be sure not to feed her too much pellet food because chinchilla’s main diet is hay but she will choose the pellets. The girl like the unhealthy stuff but is easily managed. It is also normal for her to “bark” at night when she’s running in her cage ( I have no idea why but she does it every once in awhile). Chinchilla’s are very social animals so Deb prefers her cage to be in a high foot traffic area to get constant attention. Overall, Deb is a great pet and I’m very upset to part with her. When I adopted her I had no intention of going back to school but decided to do so later. Now I am a full time student and cannot give her the care and attention she deserves. If you decide to adopt Deb she will come with a 50lb box of Timothy hay, pellet food, and an assortment of chinchilla-specific accessories.
